User Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of City Quokka (the "Service"), including our website, apps, content, and offers.


By accessing or using City Quokka, you agree to these Terms.


  1. Who can use City Quokka
  2. City Quokka is available to users of all ages. However:

    • Some offers may be restricted to users aged 18 years or over
    • Some offers may not be available to all users, including users under 18
    • It is your responsibility to ensure you meet the eligibility requirements of any offer before redeeming it

    City Quokka is not restricted to students, although some content or offers may be targeted at student audiences.


  3. Accounts & access
    • You may create one account only
    • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
    • You must not impersonate another person or provide false information

    City Quokka reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts at any time, without notice, where we reasonably believe there has been misuse, fraud, abuse, or a breach of these Terms.


  4. Guest users
  5. You may browse City Quokka as a guest without creating an account.

    As a guest:

    • You may view articles and most public offers
    • You cannot access personalised offers
    • You cannot claim or redeem personalised offers
    • You may redeem public offers where City Quokka acts only as a promotional channel and not as the redemption mechanism

    City Quokka makes no guarantees to guest users.


  6. Offers & experiences
  7. Who provides the offer

    All offers, experiences, activities, services, and events displayed on City Quokka are provided by Experience Providers, not by City Quokka.

    City Quokka acts as a platform to promote offers and connect users with providers. We are not responsible for:

    • The quality of an experience
    • Whether an experience meets your expectations
    • The conduct of Experience Providers

    Offer conditions & limitations

    Unless explicitly stated otherwise in the offer-specific terms:

    • Offers have no cash value
    • Offers are non-transferable and may not be sold, traded, or assigned
    • Offers cannot be exchanged for cash, credit, refunds, or previous purchases
    • Offers are valid only at participating locations and subject to provider availability
    • Only one offer may be redeemed per person, unless the offer terms state otherwise

    Offers are provided for promotional purposes only and may be subject to additional conditions imposed by the Experience Provider.


    Offer availability & changes

    City Quokka reserves the right for offers to:

    • Expire early
    • Be withdrawn
    • Be limited in quantity
    • Be changed or removed at any time

    City Quokka does not guarantee the availability or accuracy of any offer.

    If a provider refuses to honour an offer, City Quokka is not responsible for resolving disputes, but may use reasonable efforts to assist informally where appropriate.


    Offer-specific terms

    Please also read an offer's specific terms and conditions before you claim or attempt to redeem it. Where there is any inconsistency, the offer-specific terms take precedence over these general Terms.


  8. Payments
  9. City Quokka does not currently process payments.

    If payment features are introduced in the future, additional terms may apply and you will be notified.


  10. Acceptable use
  11. You must not:

    • Screenshot, copy, or share offers except using City Quokka's built-in sharing features
    • Sell, transfer, or trade offers
    • Redeem an offer more than once unless explicitly permitted
    • Use bots, scraping tools, or automated methods to access the Service
    • Attempt to bypass restrictions or safeguards

    City Quokka may suspend or terminate access for misuse.


  12. Content & community features
  13. If City Quokka allows users to:

    • Post reviews or comments
    • Upload photos or media
    • Share lists or other content

    You agree that:

    • You are responsible for the content you submit
    • Your content must be lawful, accurate, and respectful

    City Quokka reserves the right to moderate, remove, or restrict content at its discretion.


  14. Personalisation, ranking & testing
  15. City Quokka uses automated systems to:

    • Personalise content and offers
    • Rank articles and offers
    • Show different content to different users

    Not all offers are shown to all users.

    City Quokka may also test different versions of features, offers, layouts, or messaging to improve user experience. As a result, different users may see different versions of the Service.


  16. Communications
  17. City Quokka may communicate with you via email, in-app messages, push notifications, or other channels you have consented to.

    Some communications may be triggered by your activity (for example, abandoned offers), your location (where enabled), or time-sensitive factors.

    You can opt out of marketing communications at any time.

    City Quokka may introduce messaging features in the future that allow Experience Providers to send updates to relevant users. Such messages are not endorsements by City Quokka.


  18. No warranties
  19. City Quokka provides the Service on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

    We make no warranties that:

    • Content is accurate or complete
    • Offers will be available or honoured
    • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free

  20. Limitation of liability
  21. To the maximum extent permitted by law, City Quokka is not responsible for:

    • Injuries, loss, or damage arising from attending experiences
    • Dissatisfaction with experiences or offers
    • Third-party claims, reviews, or representations

    Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you cannot exclude under Australian Consumer Law.


  22. Changes to the Service & Terms
  23. City Quokka may:

    • Change or discontinue features
    • Update offers or content
    • Update these Terms from time to time

    Material changes will be communicated via the Service or website.


  24. Governing law & disputes
  25. These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

    If a dispute arises, the parties agree to attempt to resolve it informally first before commencing legal proceedings. The courts of New South Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
